Mother Nature was certainly on the guest list for our Labor Day wedding weekend on the Maryland Eastern Shore. Hurricane Earl threatened with rain and 20 mile an hour winds, just hours before our bride and groom exchanged their vows on the banks of the Chesapeake! But the weather broke, Earl changed directions and even the wind managed to cease and desist 15 minutes before the grand finale.
Guests sipped custom champagne splits on the bus ride over to the ceremony with color scheme matching striped straws. Upon their arrival to the private home they were able to choose their favorite lemonade from the gourmet lemonade station and munched on light nosh prior to the ceremony and enjoyed laid back “Jack Johnsonish” grooves from Grabielismo Productions.
You can’t build this! Padded benches provided a resting place (for guests) to enjoy the amazing view and to witness the interfaith nuptials. The rug was placed under the chuppah to further signify the beginning of their home together.
Devil’s in the details: Custom designed fans served as bug and heat control and offered an explanation of the significant ceremonial aspects. Ladies flipped their stilettos for matching flops and later wrapped up with pashminas as the night air cooled.
We don’t care what you really say- everyone loves a pig n’ a blanket and beer! (okay, we really DO care!! But you know it’s true) As part of the cocktail reception, Well Dunn Catering created an hors d’ oeuvres selection that was paired with a shot of beer, wine, champagne or cocktail. Instant conversation starter in a glass!
Capital Décor and Events built a combination of custom square, round and rectangular tables which made for interesting and conversational seating throughout the stunning frame tent provided by Sugar Plum Tents. CDE also designed stunning sand color dupioni silk table runners and overlays with a border of sheer organza providing a softer side to our farm style tables.
Guests danced the night away to the fabulous sounds of NYX Entertainment, which included a DJ with live musicians.
A four sided and divided bar strategically placed in the center of the tent allowed us to utilize this major focal point throughout the night from cocktails, dinner, dancing and after party. Draping allowed us to flip either side of the tent as the night went on providing a new experience for our guests with every turn of event!
Fireworks finale produced by Fireworks Concepts, the evening ended with a bang! (literally)
Just on the way out- guests grabbed a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie from our favorite little red cart.
Special thanks to Rodney Bailey for all of these amazing photos!
